Do you think I should switch out from Pre-Calculus and take Statistics instead?

literature organizer

Right now I have mostly A’s…..except 1 “B” and one “F” in Pre-Calculus…..I’ve never gotten anything below a “B”

Should I switch out?? I don’t think I could pass that class cuz the teacher is soooo hard. My counselor gave me an extra week to see if I would succeed, but I’m not improving.

So my option would be to take Statistics this year, and then maybe next year take Pre-Calculus once I’m ready….or AP Statistics.

What would you do if u were me??

my dream schools are Ivy League’s and UC schools. I am sooo busy, so I also wouldn’t have enough time for Pre-Calculus.
As junior, I am taking:

1. AP English Lang
2. Chemistry
3. Pre-Calculus or statistics???
4. US History
5. Student Government
6. AP Spanish Literature
7. AP Art History

Extra-Curricular activities:
-Tutor kids at youth center
-Spokesperson
-Fundraising organizer
-School newspaper

What are my chances of transferring to Dartmouth?

literature organizer

I’m a high school senior now and have accepted admission to a tier 1 state school. I didn’t really think of Dartmouth until after I’d accepted to the other school but I want to go there for their film studies program and their agreement to waive tuition to anyone whose total family income is less than 70,000 a year is a definite motivator.

Here are my senior year high school stats:

Grammar & Composition: 96/A
Pre-Calculus: 94/B+
British Literature: 100/A+
American Government: 98/A+
Spanish 2: 99/A+
Physics: 100/A+
Religion: 99/A+
College Prep Vocabulary: 95/A-
Economics: 100/A+
Algebra 2: 90/B-
Art: 100/A+

4.0 unweighted GPA
1700 SAT
Drama Club: 1 year
Debate Team: 1 semester
Yearbook/Prom/Construction Fund Organizer: 2 years

I took Algebra 2 for a second time as an elective, I passed it the year before.

I also took 2 college classes last semester and 4 this semester:
Expository Writing: A
Psychology: B
Theatre Appreciation: B
Philosophy: B
Sociology: A
Environmental Biology: A
[The last 4 grades are what I have currently]

I went to a liberal arts private school. We didn’t have AP classes but all the classes were Honors.

I know Ivy Leagues are extremely selective when choosing transfer admissions, so what are my chances if I maintain at least a 3.5 GPA while at the state school?
